My baptism, 9 August 1998
On a beautifully hot and sunny summer's evening - though the water was still a touch on the nippy side - I finally took the plunge, literally, and was baptised by full immersion. I had been previously baptised in the Anglican manner back in 1994, but felt the time was right to make a further commitment in this way. The following is a pictorial, scriptural and poetic record of that day when I could truly claim to be reborn in Christ.
We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4 (NIV) |
It's a watershed, a threshold,
It's a stake in the ground that says, |
With kind thanks to Phil Lucas for the lovely card from which these pictures and words were taken, and for supplying the original digital photographs of the baptism. It was a wonderful surprise to receive such a touching and lasting souvenir of this very special day.
